Supporting children with Autism participate in both the curriculum and school life
The service enables schools to access high quality specialist teaching advice for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (This service enables schools to access high quality specialist teaching advice for children and young people with autism spectrum disorder. The prevalence of children with autism spectrum conditions in Luton and across the UK IS 1.57 per 100. There are over 400 children and young people in Luton’s mainstream schools with a diagnosis of autism and 100 pupils with statements/EHCP’s in mainstream and special schools.
The Autism Team comprises of both qualified specialist teachers and Early Years Advisors. The service makes a unique contribution to helping schools support children with autism participate in both the curriculum and school life.
