Join us on this first of four and a half days exploring key principles around curriculum design for school leaders and applying them to your curriculum.
Curriculum design is the ‘current hot topic’ in education. Have you attended the Ofsted led Curriculum Workshop? Do you want to dig deeper into the messages from the key influencers and members of the Expert Panel advising Ofsted, such as Christine Counsell? If so, this is the day for you.
You will have the opportunity to reflect on your current curriculum linked to the context of your school; considering the why of your curriculum. Is it appropriate for your pupils? You will receive a taster session for the Responsive Teaching courses which applies the principles from today in practical contexts.
The what and when will be explored using your long term and medium term curriculum maps. Is your curriculum constructed using the latest research on effective practice for the development of learning? You will have the opportunity to discuss your curriculum and to set out your strategic plan for developing and monitoring your curriculum in this academic year.
Cost per person: SLA training subscription: 2 credits (£135) or £175.
Where participants have registered and are accepted onto courses there is an expectation that cancellation is made, via the website within forty eight working hours of the course start time if they are unable to attend. Failure to cancel or to turn up will result in being charged the full cost of the place. Delegates are responsible for signing the register to log their attendance.
Delegates who attend this session without booking a place will be charged £25.00 per place in additional to the course cost.
Your curriculum design will be closely linked to the latest research and expectations placed on schools by the increased focus on quality of education.
This day is for head teachers, senior leaders, curriculum leaders and governor representatives. To get the most from the day delegates should bring curriculum plans (long and medium term), teaching and learning documentation and feedback/marking policies.
