Join us for this practical course focusing on the application of grammar to support reading and writing skills.

Description

In this full day course, teachers will explore the range of grammar skills required to be taught by the National Curriculum.

Teachers will develop their understanding of the grammatical terms and how grammar can be used to develop high quality writing. Teachers will also explore how grammar can be used to develop high quality writing. Teachers will also explore how grammar can support children's understanding in reading and will have access to a range of high quality children's literature.

The course is ideally suited to newly qualified teachers or experienced teachers wanting to boost their understanding of grammar and its practical application across the curriculum.

Cost: Training SLA 2 credits/£135. Non-SLA Schools £175.

Where participants have registered and are accepted onto courses there is an expectation that they will contact schoolsupportcourses@luton.gov.uk to cancel their place (within forty eight working hours of the course start time) if they are unable to attend. It is the responsibility of the attendee to sign the register otherwise this will count as non-attendance. Failure to do so will result in being charged for the delegate place.

Outcomes

Delegates will leave with enhanced subject knowledge and a range of practical activities to explore grammar in the classroom.
