2019-20 KS2 Moderation Training

Standards and Testing Agency Moderator Training for Key Stage Two Moderators.


Potential moderators are invited to attend the national training session for 2019 - 2020.


Teachers, phase leaders and senior leaders are invited to attend this training session for potential moderators for 2019-2020. To be considered as a moderator, you must:

  • be a qualified teacher
  • have recent and relevant experience of KS2 assessment
  • have experience of internal and/or external moderation
  • have your headteacher's approval to participate

Moderators who participated in the 2018-2019 moderation cycle must attend this training if they wish to moderate again.

Cost per person: This training is funded.

Where participants have registered and are accepted onto courses there is an expectation that cancellation is made, via the website within forty eight working hours Mon-Fri of the course start time if they are unable to attend. Failure to cancel or to turn up will result in being charged £25 per person.

Delegates who attend this session without booking a place will be charged £25 per place in additional to the course cost.


Following the training, potential moderators will be invited to undertake the STA standardisation process for moderation of KS2 writing.

Booking Information

NQTs may attend this training but are unlikely to be asked to participate in moderation visits.
