GOV4: Ofsted Update Briefing: Governors

Outline

This training covers the Ofsted Framework for inspections and the approach taken to inspect schools with a particular emphasis on the role of governors.

Description

Aims
  • To familiarise governors with the Ofsted Framework for inspections and the approach being taken to inspect schools.
  • To understand the importance and place of school self evaluation within the inspection process
  • To ensure that governors are prepared to contribute to the process of self evaluation and support schools preparing for and going through an inspection

Cost per person: Governor Training SLA or £87.50

Where participants have registered and are accepted onto courses there is an expectation they will cancel their place, via the schoolsupport.luton.gov.uk website (within forty eight working hours Mon-Fri of the course start time) if they are unable to attend. Failure to do so will result in being charged for the delegate place or £25 non-attendance fee for SLA schools.

Delegates who attend this session without booking a place will be charged £25 per place in addition to any course fee.

Outcomes

After attending this session you will be able to:

  • be familiar with the Ofsted Framework for Inspection of Maintained Schools and be aware of how to support schools with self evaluation.
