Creative Interventions for Troubled Children and Teenagers


Through audio-visual presentation, Dr Sunderland presents some proven interventions which can be used in most settings. To include, storytelling as a therapeutic tool, attachment play and various tools and techniques.

Dr Margot Sunderland is Director of Education and Training at the centre for child mental health London. She has over 30 years’ experience of working with young people and their parent/carers. She is the author of over 20 books on Child Mental Health and her training ensures that all adults involved with the young person are provided with the most up-to-date research to enable the young person to thrive.

This course is funded for Luton establishments. However where participants have registered and are accepted onto this course, there is an expectation that they will contact schoolsupportcourses@luton.gov.uk to cancel their place (within forty eight hours Mon-Fri of the course start time) if they are unable to attend or a £25 admin fee will apply. It is the responsibility of the attendee to sign the register otherwise this will count as non-attendance and will also result in being charged a £25 admin charge.


Delegates will be better equipped to support the looked after children’s social, emotional and mental health needs
