This session offers support for the accuracy and consistency of your Reception baseline and the opportunity for you to moderate and agree judgements with other schools.
How confident are you in the accuracy of your school’s baseline data?
How does your baseline data compare with that of other schools?
Video clips of children at different levels [as measured by Early Years Outcomes] will be shown and discussed so that you can be confident that your assessments of children on entry to school are validated by LA moderators and moderated with other schools. This session will include elements of inter-school moderation where you will be given the opportunity to discuss children from your school and agree baseline judgements with other schools.
You will leave this course with written evidence of inter-school moderation to support the accuracy of your baseline data.
Cost per person: Training Subscription of 1 credit (£67.50). Everyone else will be charged £87.50.
Where participants have registered and are accepted onto courses there is an expectation they will cancel their place, via the schoolsupport.luton.gov.uk website (within forty eight working hours of the course start time) if they are unable to attend. Failure to do so will result in being charged for the delegate place.
Delegates who attend this session without booking a place will be charged £25.00 administration fee per person in addition to the course fee.
This course will support your school to have confidence in its baseline data from which to monitor progress and attainment. An accurate baseline is also essential to ensure Reception staff plan appropriate experiences for their children.
Please bring along a copy of your baseline data.
We appreciate that the evidence base will mainly be from your professional knowledge of the children, but it would be useful if you could bring along any supporting evidence you might have for three children at different levels of attainment. This could include children’s independent mark-making/writing, observations and any evidence received from the child’s previous setting.
