Join us for this facilitated workshop on reading and writing standards in Year 3.
Further to requests from schools, we would like to invite teachers in Year 3 to a facilitated workshop focusing on standards in reading and writing.
As part of this session, teachers will be invited to share examples of work from their school. These examples will be used to establish a shared understanding of how the curriculum can be evidenced in reading and writing. For reading, we will discuss how evidence might be presented and draw upon good practice to demonstrate the expected standard. In writing, we will explore the range of tasks presented to pupils and how these support their development as writers. There will also be an opportunity to discuss areas of the curriculum which provide more challenge and how we can show progress for all pupils.
To facilitate the discussion, those attending will need to bring examples of pupils’ work for reading and writing. Evidence of reading and writing may come from pupils currently in Year 3, or from books from the end of the previous academic year.
Cost per person: SLA training subscription of one credit (£67.50) or £87.50 per person.
Where participants have registered and are accepted onto courses there is an expectation that cancellation is made, via the website within forty eight working hours of the course start time if they are unable to attend. Failure to cancel or to turn up will result in being charged the full cost of the place.
Delegates who attend this session without booking a place will be charged £25.00 per place in additional to the course cost.
Teachers will leave with a shared understanding of the expected standard for Year 3 and the types of task that support learners to show their understanding of the curriculum.
Teachers will need to bring examples of pupils’ work for reading and writing from pupils currently in Year 3, or Year 3 books from the end of the previous academic year.
