ONLINE SESSION: Transition 2020: Supporting Reading and Teaching Inference in KS3

Deepening understanding of the teaching of reading and inference

Outline

Join us for this online session to explore the different types of inference and how these can be explored in the classroom.

Description

As schools prepare for their new Year 7 cohort, this workshop will introduce some of the different types of inference and explore possible approaches for teaching. Teaching approaches will be suitable for a range of learning contexts.

The session will provide context for how reading skills are taught in primary schools and how these can be built upon in secondary schools.

This session is suitable for teachers from all subjects where reading is required.

Cost per person: £25

Where participants have registered and are accepted onto courses there is an expectation they will cancel their place, via the schoolsupport.luton.gov.uk website (within forty eight hours Mon-Fri of the course start time) if they are unable to attend. Failure to do so will result in being charged for the delegate place.

Delegates who attend this session without booking a place will be charged £25.00 administration fee per person in addition to the course fee.

Outcomes

By the end of the session, teachers will have an understanding of the different types of inference and how these can be introduced.
